POI Aviation Joins Golf Tournament to Uphold Children’s Education

Seeing the need to extend aid for the CNMI kids’ education, POI Aviation recently joined the Delta Airlines Tournament for Children’s Education.

The said golf tournament is a fundraising activity. To formalize their participation in the event’s Full Hole Sponsorship category, POI Aviation handed over a check to the organizers of the event last November 10 at the Delta Airlines Ticketing Office on Saipan.

The proceeds of the event will be used to benefit children’s education in the CNMI.

The fundraising golf activity will be held on December 5 at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort Saipan.

POI Aviation GM Leads Neighborhood Watch Task Force program

A way of ensuring safety and fostering peace and harmonious living in the community, Frank Camacho, POI Aviation GM, spearheaded a special project on DanDan Village, Saipan: the Neighborhood Watch Program.

The Neighborhood Watch Task Force Program is a Municipal Ordinance which primarily aims to enhance the safety, security and protection of the community members.

Aside from helping to lessen crimes and domestic disturbances in the community, Camacho shares that their group is also helping out in community outreach activities such as after-school activities for teens, village revitalization and community cleanups.

POI Aviation Promotes Health and Safety Initiatives

POI Aviation team members attended an American Red Cross training called the Adult CPR and First Aid Training. This activity, aimed to promote health and safety for the team members, was held last July 22 at the American Red Cross office.

The employees who underwent training under Lucio Aldan of the American Red Cross Saipan Chapter were: Gemma de Guzman, Rommel Monserrat, Anthony Acepcion, Abdurajik Aslim, Chrispino Rapugpai, Emmanuel Parian, Rogelio Espiritu, Mercy Aguon and Victor Reyes.

CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is a first-aid method that can restore circulation of oxygen-rich blood to the brain. This is an essential practice during emergencies and accidents.

POI Aviation Celebrates 18th Anniversary

POI Aviation celebrated its 18th anniversary at the Saipan Grand Hotel last July 18. It was also an occasion where outstanding team members from the company’s various departments were given recognition for their exemplary work performance.

In an interview, POI Aviation General Manager Frank Camacho shares that he is proud of the company because it has gone a long way. He further adds that their ISO 9001:2000 certification is a testament to the quality of their processes and services rendered to clients.

POI Aviation is a Tan Holdings Company that provides a wide range of ground handling services for both private as well as commercial aircraft.

POI Aviation Passed IS0 9001:2000 Surveillance Audit

POI Aviation made another remarkable effort in maintaining international quality standards when they passed the IS0 9001:2000 Surveillance Audit last June 30, 2009.

POI Aviation General Manager Frank Camacho says that he is pleased with the positive results of the ISO Surveillance Audit conducted by SGS. He also acknowledged Quality Management Representative Neri David and the Internal Quality Audit team for maintaining the Quality Management System in place.

ISO 9001:2000 is a quality management standard recognized worldwide. POI Aviation first received accreditation from the IS0 9001:2000 Surveillance Audit in 2001.

POI Aviation Rewards Retiring Chief Pius Helgen with a Token

A special luncheon for retiring Commonwealth Ports Authority Chief of Police Pius M. Helgen was arranged by POI Aviation last June 26, Friday. The luncheon, held at the Saipan Grand Hotel, served as a simple token of gratitude for the many years of guidance and support that Chief Helgen has given POI.

According to the executives of POI Aviation, Chief Helgen ardently assisted their company by ensuring safety and security measures for their management and team members. For all of his efforts in helping POI Aviation attain maximum safety and security, Chief Helgen also received a plaque of appreciation during the gathering.
Chief Helgen has over 30 years of service to the Ports community, for both sea and airport on Saipan.
