DURING THE whole month of April 2007, Eva Airways held twice a week flights into Saipan. The inaugural flight happened last April 4 with Eva Airways’ Airbus 330-200 touching down on the Saipan Airport with approximately 295 passengers.

The passengers were welcomed by members of the Marianas Visitors Authority. Among the members were Mr. Bob Jones, Mr. Jerry Tan, Ms. Pace Wu (a Taiwanese model), SPN Governor Ben Fitial, Mr. James Chin (Taiwanese Consul), Mr. Nieh Kuo-Wei (Executive of Evergreen Corp./owner of Eva Air), Fiesta Resort and Spa GM Jackson Yang and Perry Tenorio, Executive of Marianas Visitors Authority (holding microphone).

NORTHWEST Airlines Guam/Saipan Station Manager Richard Parsons shakes hands with POI Aviation GM Frank Camacho after presenting him the award for POI Aviation’s contributions to airline safety.

POI Aviation was recognized by Northwest Airlines last January for their contributions to the advancement of the airline’s overall safety with a plaque last January 25, 2007.

Northwest Airlines Guam/Saipan Station Manager Richard Parsons personally presented Frank Camacho, POI Aviation GM, the plaque, which read: “Presented to honor and recognize a team who has contributed extraordinarily to the advancement of overall safety of the airlines employees and operations. Your efforts to consistently strive to achieve a safe working environment epitomize Northwest’s values and guiding principles.€

Air China Limited visited POI Aviation last December 4, 2006 to train the latter’s Load Planning Specialists whose duties involve the weighing and balancing of cargos, luggage, passengers and any items that need to be loaded unto aircrafts. (These aircraft models are the B767-200, B767-300, B767-300ER and B777-200). The training ensures POI Aviation maintains their high standards in servicing their clients.

In its commitment to international high quality standard, POI Aviation passed ISO surveillance once more. The surveillance and pre-audit renewal was held last September 20-22 by SGS ISO auditor conducted by Fatima Francisco and Antonio Burgarin.

The team members of POI Aviation have proven again that teamwork is a formula that never fails to produce good results. POI Aviation GM, Frank Camacho, commended his team members. “Thank you for a job well done during the preparation and the actual audit for the re-certification of our ISO”, he wrote in his email to all team members. Both auditors were very pleased with everyone’s enthusiasm in achieving our objectives in this re-certification audit.”
