Hi Everyone and welcome to POI Aviation’s new Corporate Blog!
You will notice that there are earlier entries in this blog. Entries before this “Welcome” post were migrated from Brad Derksen’s personal blog on airport safety and security. Brad is POI Aviation’s Safety and Security Coordinator. He will now be managing this blog for the group in collaboration with Frank Camacho, our General Manager and other managers and team members of POI Aviation. Thanks, Brad for taking on this new role!
This blog is where we hope lively and relevant commentary on airport safety and security, industry news and policies will take place. Please join in the conversation by posting your comments to future entries, and let’s make this blog a venue for all aviation-related online discussions in Micronesia and the Pacific.
Cheers!

Ever wonder why it takes a long time for the Airlines personnel to check you in?
Have you experienced denied boarding? Or have you checked your ticket if that is your correct Full Name?
A lot of Passengers were being denied boarding because of incorrect spelling of their names.
Your itinerary is also another reason for disruption at some point.
When purchasing tickets, make sure to check your Full Name, Itinerary and other information as it might
Spell doom on your travel. Most Airlines will not accept miss spelled names, most especially when bought from another Carrier. One of the reasons for this is that the issuing Airline may not honor the ticket that they release to the Passenger when the receiving Carrier bills them. At the end of the day it is you who will be the victim. Suffering from a delayed travel and destroying especial moments with your loved ones. One sad instance that happened is when a Passenger wants to attend the wedding of their Daughter, but was denied boarding until the ticket is corrected. You will be lucky if the releasing Carrier’s reservations office is open, if not, it will be a sad situation for you.
It is now summer time in most Asian Countries, so next time when you book your flight, be it by airline mileage program or through travel agencies or using other airlines ticket, Make sure that you read your flight information. You will always be at the end of the bargain if you failed to check your ticket properly. One best way is to bring your passport or a copy of your passport when making reservations and check them before leaving the office, that way it can be corrected immediately.
Enjoy your Summer Vacation!!!

It is very rare to see this kind of line here at Saipan International Airport. Three flights at the same time.
Saipan Air come on down!! We are ready for you!!
Just imagine how long the line is! Shown here is our counter for Sichuan Airlines up to the TSA checkpoint. We just finished processing our passengers, but still have two Delta Airlines Flights being processed. TSA officers who are manning the checkpoint is very commendable here as all flights were departed on schedule.
Whew, Look at all those bags, LOL !!!! Did you notice passengers still waiting in line to be processed? Shown from our counter, baggage(s) piled up all the way up to Delta Airline’s counter.
